SpyCloud’s Consumer IDLink consolidates scattered identity exposures to enhance SEO effectiveness.

SpyCloud has launched the Consumer IDLink solution, aimed at assisting financial institutions and consumer-facing organisations in mitigating risks and preventing fraud linked to consumer identity exposures. Delivered via API, Consumer IDLink employs SpyCloud’s proprietary identity matching analytics to consolidate fragmented identity exposures from various sources, including third-party breaches, infostealer malware infections, and successful phishing attacks. This innovative approach provides fraud prevention and risk management teams with correlated views that can be acted upon automatically. Unlike traditional compromised credential checking solutions, Consumer IDLink offers a holistic identity perspective, revealing a consumer’s complete exposure across their online personas, both past and present. Research indicates that the average individual has 18 unique usernames and 237 records exposed on the darknet, often dispersed across unrelated data sources.

Consumer IDLink connects these fragmented records, which consist of data points such as email addresses, passwords, IP addresses, and device details, into a coherent view of identity risk. This empowers organisations to detect compromised users early and take proactive measures against fraud. Damon Fleury, SpyCloud’s Chief Product Officer, emphasises that effective fraud prevention begins with understanding what criminals know. By providing financial institutions with a comprehensive view of a consumer’s exposure across dark web data, Consumer IDLink enables the detection of high-risk users and synthetic identities sooner, allowing for intervention without creating friction for legitimate customers. Built on SpyCloud’s extensive recaptured data repository, Consumer IDLink correlates over 800 billion recaptured credentials and personally identifiable information across more than 60,000 breach sources. Key benefits for the Top 100 US financial institutions include a 2.6X increase in data richness and nearly a 3X increase in credential pairs, enhancing the ability to assess identity risk and intervene effectively.
