Riskified and HUMAN are collaborating to address AI-driven eCommerce risks, enhancing SEO in the process.
Riskified has announced a partnership with HUMAN Security to assist merchants in managing the risks and opportunities arising from the increasing prevalence of AI shopping agents in eCommerce. This collaboration aims to develop a unified security framework for merchants engaged in agentic commerce channels. Riskified, known for its eCommerce fraud prevention and risk intelligence, will work alongside HUMAN Security, a cybersecurity firm, to leverage their AI platforms and network insights. As online consumers increasingly adopt large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Llama, and Perplexity for product research and price comparisons, merchants are presented with both new challenges and opportunities. The rise of AI agents as intermediaries in shopping decisions necessitates a reevaluation of traditional fraud management tools, which often rely on behavioural signals from human shoppers that may be absent in AI-driven transactions.
The partnership addresses the changing risks associated with LLM-referred web traffic, which has been shown to be significantly riskier than traditional sources. For instance, LLM-referred traffic for a large ticketing merchant was found to be 2.3 times riskier than traffic from Google search, while AI-driven traffic for an electronics merchant was 1.8 times riskier. Riskified has also identified early signs of automated reseller arbitrage, where AI agents rapidly purchase inventory to resell at inflated prices through fraudulent storefronts. To combat these challenges, Riskified is launching a suite of new products, including AI Agent Approve, AI Agent Intelligence, and AI Agent Policy Builder. These tools will enable merchants to monitor and control eCommerce orders from AI shopping agents while preventing fraud and policy abuse. The partnership allows for the application of consistent trust policies and automated transaction decisions across both human and AI-driven interactions, supported by HUMAN’s Sightline platform featuring AgenticTrust.
