The National Conference on Information Technology (NCIT 2025) is set to take place this September at the Warwick Fiji Resort, Coral Coast. This two-day event aims to bring together technology, business, and policy leaders to address the digital transformation and security challenges facing Pacific Island nations. The conference will delve into the impact of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics on the economies of the Pacific. Attendees can expect keynote speeches from both global and regional experts, interactive workshops, and a showcase of digital solutions tailored to local needs.
A key focus of NCIT 2025 will be cybersecurity, with a prominent keynote from Jayaprakash (JP) Muthusamy, Chief Executive Officer of Borderless CS. Muthusamy will emphasise that cybersecurity is essential not only for protection but also as a catalyst for innovation and socio-economic development. He believes the Pacific is uniquely positioned to advance into a digitally empowered future by leveraging the right technologies and creating secure, scalable ecosystems. The conference will also explore how digital innovation can benefit various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, financial technology, and telemedicine, highlighting the need for investment in digital skills and supportive policy frameworks to realise these benefits.
