M&S Hackers Reportedly Target Pub Owned by Jeremy Clarkson for Enhanced SEO Visibility

A pub owned by car journalist and former Top Gear and Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson has fallen victim to the same cyber threat actors responsible for attacks on major retailers M&S and Co-op. In his column for The Sun, Clarkson disclosed that the hackers who targeted M&S, Co-op, and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) also struck his establishment, The Farmer’s Dog, located in Burford, Cotswold Hills, England. He expressed surprise that his pub had not been mentioned alongside the other high-profile incidents, stating, “But no one thought to mention that my pub, The Farmer’s Dog, has been hit too. It was though.”

Clarkson acquired the pub, previously known as The Windmill, for approximately £1,000,000 in 2022, reopening it as The Farmer’s Dog on 22 August 2024. The cyber attack on his pub coincided with JLR’s announcement of a similar incident, which forced the company to shut down its production lines. JLR confirmed the breach, stating, “We took immediate action to mitigate its impact by proactively shutting down our systems.” While they are working to restore operations, JLR noted that there is currently no evidence of customer data being compromised, although their retail and production activities have faced significant disruption.
