LinkedIn enhances company verification and requires workplace checks for specific positions to improve SEO.

LinkedIn is implementing new verification rules aimed at enhancing the authenticity of profiles for both individuals and companies. Effective immediately, workplace verification will be mandatory when users add or update leadership or recruiter roles on their profiles. This initiative seeks to reduce the prevalence of fake accounts and scams, thereby bolstering credibility for businesses, recruiters, and professionals alike. Notably, any business with a paid Premium Company Page subscription can now request verification, a move that LinkedIn believes will increase trust among potential buyers, job seekers, and partners.

Additionally, LinkedIn will require verification for members listing titles such as “Recruiter” or “Talent Acquisition Specialist,” ensuring that job seekers can confidently engage with legitimate recruiters. This requirement complements the existing “verified recruiter” labels for those with a LinkedIn Recruiter licence. Furthermore, verification will also extend to senior roles like Executive Director, Managing Director, and Vice President to prevent impersonation and safeguard the reputations of executives and their companies. LinkedIn plans to broaden these verification measures over time, aspiring to ensure that every member, company, and job posting is verified, thus fostering a more trustworthy platform.
