LevelBlue Acquires Trustwave, Forming the Largest Managed Security Firm in the Industry

LevelBlue has successfully completed its acquisition of Trustwave, positioning itself as the world’s largest pure-play managed security services provider. This strategic move combines LevelBlue’s artificial intelligence-driven threat detection and cyber advisory capabilities with Trustwave’s managed detection and response services, including its renowned SpiderLabs team. The integration is expected to enhance protection, accelerate incident response, and bolster cyber resilience for customers on a global scale. The newly formed entity aims to offer a comprehensive portfolio that includes managed security, offensive security, strategic advisory, incident response, and security software. Bob McCullen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LevelBlue, emphasised that this acquisition redefines the role of a managed security provider by merging human expertise with AI-powered services, ultimately delivering faster detection and smarter responses to evolving threats.

The collaboration between LevelBlue and Trustwave brings together extensive experience in managed security services, managed detection and response, incident response, and threat intelligence. LevelBlue’s strengths in network security and strategic risk management will be integrated with Trustwave’s Fusion Security Operations Platform and SpiderLabs threat intelligence team. This merger is anticipated to simplify security operations, enhance incident response times, and leverage cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies across various digital environments, including cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid systems. Furthermore, the acquisition will facilitate the integration of LevelBlue’s Open Threat Exchange, the world’s largest open threat-sharing platform, with detection logic and research from both LevelBlue Labs and Trustwave SpiderLabs. This combination aims to improve visibility over the threat landscape, expedite issue detection, and reduce alert fatigue among security analysts, enabling more proactive security strategies throughout the threat lifecycle. Trustwave’s recent achievement of obtaining full authorised status under both the Federal Risk and Authorisation Management Program and StateRAMP initiatives further solidifies its position in the cybersecurity landscape.
