Jen Easterly Joins Huntress as Advisor During $1.5 Billion Expansion Initiative

Huntress has announced that Jen Easterly, the former Director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), is joining its Strategic Advisory Board. This marks her first role in the private sector following her departure from government service. Easterly’s appointment coincides with Huntress’s expansion, which has led to a new valuation of USD $1.5 billion and an intensified focus on integrating artificial intelligence into its cybersecurity offerings. The company aims to develop advanced capabilities in threat intelligence and Security Operations Centre (SOC) processes, particularly to support organisations with limited resources. Easterly’s extensive background includes senior roles at Morgan Stanley, the US Army, the White House, and the National Security Agency, where she led initiatives to enhance collaboration between public and private sectors and establish industry-driven standards for cyber resilience.

Huntress CEO Kyle Hanslovan emphasised the importance of Easterly’s addition during a pivotal time for the company. He described her as “arguably the single most transformative US government cybersecurity leader of our time,” noting her contributions at CISA that made critical resources accessible to a broader audience. As a member of the Strategic Advisory Board, Easterly will address key security challenges, including workforce shortages and the evolving nature of cyber threats. She will provide guidance on converting threat data into actionable insights for clients and the wider industry, while also participating in initiatives to strengthen partnerships, particularly for underrepresented groups in cybersecurity. Reflecting on her decision, Easterly expressed admiration for Huntress’s leadership and commitment to innovation in the cybersecurity landscape.
