Google Gemini’s Deep Research is finally being made available through an API to enhance SEO.
One of the most powerful features of Google Gemini is Deep Research, which has, until now, been strictly limited to the Gemini interface. This innovative tool allows users to search for a wide range of topics, including scholars and existing research papers. Google describes Deep Research as an agentic Research Assistant capable of browsing hundreds of websites on behalf of the user, synthesising findings, and generating insightful multi-page reports in mere minutes. With the Gemini 2.5 model, Deep Research has improved its capabilities across all stages of research, from planning to delivering even more detailed reports. Currently, Gemini 2.5 Pro’s Deep Research is confined to gemini.google.com, but Google’s Logan Kilpatrick has confirmed that an API version is on the way.
The potential applications of Deep Research in API are vast. For instance, developers can integrate it into their Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) to prepare reports for upcoming projects. Deep Research is not limited to writing lengthy papers; it also transforms prompts into personalised multi-point research plans. Furthermore, it autonomously searches and thoroughly browses the web to find relevant, up-to-date information. This capability is particularly crucial, as recent findings indicate that 46% of environments had passwords cracked, nearly doubling from 25% the previous year. For a comprehensive look at trends in prevention, detection, and data exfiltration, the Picus Blue Report 2025 is now available.
