F5 and Equinix Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Security for Global AI Workloads

F5 and Equinix have expanded their partnership to enhance capabilities for deploying and securing AI workloads and modern applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This collaboration integrates the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) with Equinix’s Network Edge and Equinix Fabric, effectively combining digital infrastructure delivery and security services. The partnership aims to address the increasing demands of AI adoption within enterprise IT environments, particularly for organisations facing limitations with legacy infrastructure, such as heightened security risks, compliance challenges, and operational costs. By enabling customers to deploy, scale, and secure digital resources globally, the partnership alleviates the complexities associated with managing physical hardware.

A significant aspect of this expanded integration is the introduction of F5 Distributed Cloud Customer Edge as a virtual network function (VNF) on Equinix Network Edge. This development facilitates the rapid provisioning of F5’s application delivery and security services, leveraging Equinix’s global infrastructure and private interconnection options for various cloud providers. F5 asserts that this offering is particularly well-suited for environments requiring low latency and high performance, such as those for AI inference and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), while ensuring compliance with data sovereignty and privacy regulations. Industry leaders, including John Maddison from F5 and Maryam Zand from Equinix, emphasise that this partnership provides a flexible, high-performance foundation for enterprises to innovate faster and securely scale their AI applications and modern distributed workloads.
