Blackline Safety enhances its in-house quality assurance to improve global reliability.
Blackline Safety has announced a significant expansion of its quality assurance programme, aimed at improving product testing and reliability for its global market. The company, headquartered in Canada with offices in the UK, France, the US, and UAE, manufactures connected safety wearables and gas monitors that serve over 2,200 organisations and protect more than 165,000 workers worldwide. Its technology focuses on live monitoring and real-time data, facilitating timely responses to incidents and promoting safer working conditions across various sectors. This expansion includes a substantial increase in the quality assurance team, upgrades to inspection equipment, and enhanced in-lab testing of the entire product range, all conducted in-house at its Calgary manufacturing facility.
Blair Svoboda, Director of Quality Assurance at Blackline Safety, emphasised the company’s commitment to safety technology, stating that protection begins in the lab and on the production line. The firm employs automated equipment to simulate real-world conditions, rigorously testing product reliability through various procedures, including repeated dock insertions and exposure to extreme temperatures and dust. The quality assurance team has grown by over 250%, now comprising 35 specialists who conduct a comprehensive 68-point test on every device before shipment. This thorough assessment ensures that each device meets operational standards, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding professionals in high-risk environments. Svoboda highlighted that quality assurance is not merely about compliance; it is about ensuring that every device can effectively protect individuals when it matters most.
