Anthropic is evaluating a web application similar to GPT Codex called Claude Code to enhance SEO performance.
Anthropic is set to launch a web version of its renowned Claude Code, an AI-powered coding assistant that currently operates within terminal environments. Designed primarily for developers, Claude Code can comprehend the entire codebase of an application, enabling users to fix bugs, test new features, simplify Git operations, and automate complex coding tasks. While it is accessible in environments like Windows Terminal and code editors such as Visual Studio Code and Cursor, it has been limited to terminal use. The upcoming web version aims to expand its functionality, making it more versatile for developers who prefer browser-based tools.
The new research preview of Claude Code will be available at Claude.ai/code, featuring a prompt composer to enhance user experience. To get started, users will need to set up a repository by installing the GitHub Claude app and committing the “Claude Dispatch” GitHub workflow file. Additionally, users can enable email and web notifications for updates related to Claude Code. However, it remains unclear whether the terminal and web versions will have access to content created in either environment.
