Accenture is set to acquire CyberCX, enhancing cybersecurity capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.

Accenture has announced its agreement to acquire CyberCX, a Melbourne-based cybersecurity firm, in a strategic move to enhance its cybersecurity operations across the Asia Pacific region. CyberCX is well-regarded for delivering cybersecurity services to both private and public sector clients in Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. With a workforce of around 1,400 professionals, the company offers a wide range of expertise, including consulting, transformation, managed security services, offensive and cyber physical security, crisis management, threat intelligence, and strategic advisory. This acquisition represents Accenture’s largest cybersecurity purchase to date and aims to bolster its presence in a region facing increasingly complex regulatory and cybersecurity challenges. CyberCX operates multiple security operations centres across Australia and New Zealand, along with offices in London and New York, allowing for a blend of local insight and global reach.

CyberCX has developed several AI-powered security platforms, providing services such as detection and response, a sovereign secure cloud, and the CyberCX Academy for skills development. The company also utilises proprietary tools for security assessment and cyber intelligence gathering. This technological focus aligns with findings from Accenture’s State of Cybersecurity Resilience 2025 report, which revealed that 97% of Australian organisations are not fully prepared to secure their AI-driven operations. Paolo Dal Cin, Global Lead for Accenture Cybersecurity, highlighted the shared mission of both companies to leverage cybersecurity as a means for clients to navigate change and build resilience against evolving threats. CyberCX has established partnerships with major cybersecurity players, including Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and CrowdStrike, and is recognised as a leading managed service and system integrator in the region. Peter Burns, who leads Accenture’s business in Australia and New Zealand, noted that the demand for cybersecurity services is accelerating as digital environments become more interconnected and threats escalate across operational and supply chains.
