OpenAI Launches $4 ChatGPT Subscription Plan, Currently Unavailable in the US
OpenAI has introduced the GPT Go subscription plan, priced at $4 in the US and INR 399 in India. Currently, this affordable option is exclusively available in India, with users in that region receiving prompts to upgrade from their free accounts. When users opt to try GPT Go, they will be required to pay the $4 fee. OpenAI has indicated that the plan will expand to additional regions in the near future. The pricing structure also includes €4 in Europe and £3.50 in the UK, confirming a broader rollout of the Go Plan.
The $4 GPT Go plan offers several features not accessible in the free version, including access to GPT-5, expanded messaging and uploads, faster image creation, longer memory and context, limited deep research capabilities, and the ability to manage projects and custom GPTs. For those considering an upgrade to GPT Plus at $20, additional benefits include advanced reasoning with GPT-5, enhanced memory and context, expanded deep research and agent mode, Sora video generation, and Codex agent functionalities. OpenAI has noted that the GPT Go plan provides higher usage limits compared to the free plan, although these limits may vary based on system conditions.
