Israeli Cybersecurity Official Arrested in the U.S. After Operation Targeting Child Sex Predators
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) announced the arrest of Tom Artiom Alexandrovich, a prominent Israeli cyber security official, during a two-week operation aimed at apprehending child sex predators. Alexandrovich was one of eight individuals arrested in a multi-agency effort that included the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations. The LVMPD stated that the charges against Alexandrovich and the others involved counts of luring a child with a computer for sexual acts. Following the arrest, Alexandrovich’s LinkedIn profile was deleted, although several news outlets managed to capture screenshots of it before its removal.
Despite the LVMPD’s assertion that Alexandrovich was detained at the Henderson Detention Center in Nevada, Israeli media outlet Ynet reported that he was only briefly questioned before returning to his hotel and subsequently flying back to Israel two days later. Israeli officials have since downplayed the incident, suggesting that it may not have significant implications. Alexandrovich’s last LinkedIn post referenced the Black Hat 2025 cyber security event, which he had attended in Las Vegas shortly before his arrest.
