Genetec Maintains Leading Global Position in Video Surveillance Software Rankings

Genetec has solidified its position as the leading player in the global video surveillance software market, as highlighted in recent reports from analyst firms Omdia and Novaira Insights. Omdia’s 2025 Video Surveillance & Analytics Database Report confirms that Genetec retains its overall number one ranking worldwide in video surveillance software. The company also excels in the broader category that includes both video surveillance software and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS). Omdia attributes Genetec’s success to its ongoing investment in open, scalable, and cybersecure cloud solutions, particularly with the introduction of the new VSaaS category. The growing customer adoption of Security Centre SaaS, launched in mid-2024, has further bolstered Genetec’s standing, placing it within the global top ten for VSaaS. Additionally, the report ranks Genetec fourth in the Americas, the largest and fastest-growing regional market for VSaaS, reflecting the strong momentum of its unified offerings, which encompass both VSaaS and Access Control as a Service (ACaaS).

Regionally, Genetec continues to lead the market in the Americas for both video surveillance and the combined video surveillance and VSaaS categories, marking the 14th consecutive year it has held this top position. In the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, Genetec maintains its number two ranking and has achieved the highest market share growth among the top ten vendors. In the Asia Pacific region, Genetec ranks third, according to Omdia’s data. Scott Foley, Senior Analyst for Physical Security at Omdia, notes that the video surveillance market is experiencing steady global growth, driven by increasing security demands and the rapid adoption of new technologies. Novaira Insights further corroborates Genetec’s status as the global market leader in total video surveillance software and service agreements, recognising it as one of the highest-growth vendors in both hardware and software. Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering and Chief Security Officer at Genetec, emphasises the company’s commitment to providing customers with flexible deployment options, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or a hybrid approach, ensuring that organisations can choose solutions that best meet their needs.
