Palo Alto Networks Launches Cortex Cloud ASPM to Mitigate Application Risks

Palo Alto Networks has launched Cortex Cloud Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), a solution aimed at preventing security risks from affecting applications before deployment. This prevention-first module is designed to block vulnerabilities from reaching production environments, empowering security professionals and developers to identify and mitigate risks in cloud and AI applications early in the development process. By streamlining remediation efforts, Cortex Cloud ASPM helps reduce associated costs. The platform integrates an open AppSec partner ecosystem, allowing organisations to centralise data from various third-party code scanners, thereby enhancing visibility for security teams while enabling them to utilise their preferred development tools seamlessly.

Cortex Cloud ASPM builds on the existing Cortex Cloud platform, which combines Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) capabilities with Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) for real-time threat management. This comprehensive approach to cloud security is designed to protect the entire application lifecycle, leveraging data from code, cloud infrastructure, and Security Operations Centres (SOC). The platform enforces targeted guardrails based on application and business context, correlating findings from both native security controls and third-party scanning solutions to prioritise critical risks. Additionally, automation features minimise the need for manual remediation, allowing security and development teams to efficiently address vulnerabilities throughout the application lifecycle.
