Microlise Unveils ANZ Roadshow Focused on Safety and Digital Transformation
Microlise has announced a new executive roadshow, named The Road Ahead, targeting safety, compliance, and digital transformation challenges in the fleet and supply chain sectors across Australia and New Zealand. The event will visit Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland, uniting senior leaders and decision-makers from the transport, logistics, and supply chain industries. The programme aims to address the disconnect between reported safety practices and perceptions among drivers and managers in the region. The latest Heavy Vehicle Industry Safety Survey revealed a significant disparity in ongoing safety training, with only 50% of drivers agreeing they receive relevant safety training on a continuing basis, compared to 83% of managers. This highlights a communication and training gap between different tiers of the workforce. Furthermore, one in four respondents reported having little or no understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (CoR), a crucial legislative framework governing workplace safety for transport and logistics providers.
The roadshow is structured as a half-day event featuring expert panel discussions, networking opportunities for C-suite and senior fleet leaders, live demonstrations of transport management technology, and case studies showcasing operational return on investment and efficiency improvements. Speakers and contributors will include representatives from Austroads, Logmaster, the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia, and senior Microlise executives from both regional and global offices. Microlise Managing Director for APAC Operations, Luke Olsen, described the event as an opportunity to facilitate open discussion across the industry. He expressed excitement about connecting directly with senior leaders driving transformation in ANZ’s transport and logistics ecosystem. Olsen emphasised the importance of addressing the critical gap in understanding the Chain of Responsibility, which poses risks to both businesses and frontline workers. The events will also tackle ongoing challenges such as driver shortages, change management, and the complexities of digital transformation, while addressing the increasing time constraints faced by drivers and fleet managers.
